Dr. Bhagwan Balani
Registrar
Dr. Bhagwan Balani is Principal of Bombay Teachers’ Training College, one of the premier colleges of teacher education and a constituent college of HSNC University. He has been heading BTT College for the last four years. Dr. Balani has done his doctorate on developing a quality assurance model of teacher education programmes. With a teaching experience of 19 years Dr Balani has taught subjects like Research Methodology, Educational Evaluation, Teaching of Mathematics, Teaching of Science, Population Education, Environmental Education, Action Research, Understanding Disciplines, and School Subjects, Assessment for Learning and Gender School and society. He has also taught Research Methodology to the students pursuing M.A. Education with the institute of distance learning and open learning (IDOL) of the University of Mumbai.

Dr. Sachin Chandrakant Pimple
Deputy Registrar
Dr. Sachin is Assistant Prof. at D. M. Harish School of Law. He is currently heading the Examination Committee for the University Schools at the University. He holds a Master’s Degree in Commerce (MCOM) from the University of Mumbai & in Business Administration (MBA) from ICFAI. His area of specialization includes accounts, finance and direct tax. He has published 18 research papers in various National & International Journals including UGC-Care listed Journals and ABDC Journal. He has successfully completed 2 Minor Research Projects (MRP) funded by University of Mumbai and Rashtriya Uchhatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA). Presently he is Member of Board of Studies of BMS at Hinduja College, Charni Road and Chetana College, Bandra.

Ms. Shailaja Rane
Deputy Registrar
Ms. Shailaja Rane is the Deputy Registrar at HSNC University, Mumbai, and a senior academic and administrator with over 32 years of teaching experience in Statistics, Biostatistics, Survival Analysis, Time Series, Econometrics, and Operations Research. She holds an M.Sc. in Statistics and a Masters in Web Designing and E-Commerce, and is SET-qualified with certifications in Python, Power BI, R, and Tableau.
Her research interests include Designs of Experiments, Survival Analysis, Operations Research, and Cancer Research, with seven co-authored journal papers, two book chapters, and ten projects under Jiyaasa SHP, including an ongoing minor research project on “A Data Driven Approach to Aviation Safety Management.” In addition to her academic contributions, Ms. Rane has held significant administrative positions, including Academic Head of Data Science and Business Analytics, Nodal Officer for AEDP, BOAT, and MIS, and extensive involvement in Boards of Studies across Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Sound Engineering, and Music Production. She has also been nominated as an external member by the Academic Council for several colleges, including CHM College, KG Joshi College of Arts, and NG Bedekar College of Commerce.

Prof. Tejashree V. Shanbhag
Dean, Faculty of Science & Technology
Dr. Tejashree Shanbhag is Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology and serves as Principal of K.C. College, Mumbai and also Heads the Department of Life Sciences. Prof.Shanbhag holds key administrative positions at HSNC University. She is a Member of the Board of Governance and Member of Academic Council of the University. Her research interest lies in Environmental Sciences, Endocrinology and Cancer Biology. Dr. Shanbhag has been pivotal in securing the Department of Science and Technology -FIST grant for K.C.College and has been its programme coordinator. A Zoologist and nature enthusiast at heart, Prof. Shanbhag is involved in numerous organizational and academic roles, including guiding PhD, M.Sc. and B.Sc. students of the Science Honors Program, organizing conferences, and participating in research initiatives. Dr. Shanbhag has authored several books and published research papers in UGC Care listed and Peer reviewed National and International Journals. She is the recipient of the State Level “Vishesh Marg Darshak Puraskar” conferred by Marathi Vigyan Parishad for her extensive research and significant contribution to her field. In recognition of her exemplary contribution to teaching and research at KC College, Dr. Shanbhag has been bestowed with Exemplary Teacher and KC Ratna Award.

Prof. Dr. Pooja Ramchandani
Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Management
Dr. Pooja Ramchandani is Dean of Faculty of Commerce and Management. A young and dynamic academician with strong leadership skills she has a teaching experience of 21 years. She joined HR college in the year 2000 as a lecturer in Department of Commerce and became Head of Department (Commerce) and Vice principal of degree college in the year 2016. She was appointed as the Principal In-charge of H.R College from July 2020 which is one of the leading colleges in the field of commerce education in India. She was awarded with honorary DLitt for her contribution to Education. She has worked towards growth and development of college and left no stone unturned to take her college to greater heights. Her expertise lies in varied subjects such as marketing, human resource management, principles of management, marketing research organization behavior and many more subjects under Faculty of Commerce and Management. She is recognized guide for Doctor of Philosophy in the subject of Business Policy and Administration under Faculty of Commerce from University of Mumbai. She has more than 30 research papers publications in national and international journals. Currently five research scholars are pursing PhD under her.

Prof.(Dr) Shalini R Sinha
Dean of Humanities and Social Studies at the HSNC University
Prof.(Dr) Shalini R Sinha is Dean, Humanities and Social Studies at the HSNC University, Mumbai. She is Vice Principal at K.C College and is a Professor in the Dept of English. She is also the administrative Head of the Departments of Mass Media and Computer Science at K.C College.
She has diverse interests and is passionately devoted to culture, literary, and gender studies. Her special area of interest is research in Indian English fiction, inculcating communication skills in the youth, and organising ventures that lead to Women’s empowerment.
She is a humanist and educationist who has initiated a certificate course in the college that aims at imparting research skills and enhancing soft skills in selected students of the Second year of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Commerce. She has published a book entitled “Critical Insights into New Age Popular Fiction in Indian English”.
She has been an active member of the Gender Issues Cell of the college and has been convenor of a national conference on ” Revisiting the Discourse on Women’s Rights : New forms of Violations and Contestations”, held at KC College. She has published a number of research papers in peer reviewed research journals and critical anthologies.
She has strong faith in the power of the youth in taking the nation forward, hence believes that education has to be inclusive, incisive, and inspirational.

Prof. Leena Pujari
Dean, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies
Dr. Leena Pujari is Dean, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies & Professor and Head of Department of Sociology at K C College. She believes in teaching for social transformation and in nurturing critical and analytical minds. Her research interests include Development studies, Legal Studies and Gender Studies, in particular issues of feminist pedagogy, feminist resistance and feminist jurisprudence. She is on the Advisory Group of a transnational research project of the University of Westminster UK on ‘Decolonising Sexual and Gender Based Violence in Higher Education: Innovations in Theory, Policy and Practice’. She is also a Senior Visiting Fellow (honorary) at the leading policy think tank IMPRI, New Delhi. She is the National Convener of one of the Research Committees of Indian Sociological Society. She is an avid researcher and has researched on tribal women in Odisha, child rights in Mumbai and New Zealand, role of WDCs and ICs in fostering gender sensitive campuses in Mumbai colleges and led a team of researchers’ on a UNFPA funded consultative and collaborative research project with Population First on major media houses in Mumbai and their gender sensitive components. She has several research publications in reputed national and international journals such as Sage and Economic and Political Weekly. She has chapters in books published by Taylor and Francis and Springer.

Dr. Jayesh Joglekar
Director of Board of Examinations & Evaluation
Dr. Jayesh Joglekar is a distinguished academic with an impressive and well-rounded educational background. He earned his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pune. To further broaden his expertise, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Law and Cyber Forensics from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru.
With more than two decades of experience in teaching and academic administration, Dr. Joglekar has played an active role in advancing innovative pedagogical practices. His outstanding commitment to education has been recognised with the prestigious ‘Ideal Teacher Award,’ presented in conjunction with India’s Teacher’s Day celebrations.
In addition to his teaching and administrative accomplishments, Dr. Joglekar has a strong research portfolio, with more than ten publications in reputed national and international journals and three book chapters to his credit.

Dr. Nandini Sengupta
Deputy Director, Board of Examination and Evaluation
Dr. Nandini Sengupta is a Professor of Economics at K.C College. She is a recognized Ph.D guide with teaching experience of more than 25 years in the undergraduate and post-graduate programmes of the Department. Her research interests include Monetary Economics,Development Economics and Econometrics. Dr. Sengupta has published more than 20 research papers with publishing houses and journals of national and international repute like Sage, Taylor and Francis, Economic and Political Weekly among others. She has also worked in the area of gender sensitivity in a minor research project funded by HSNC University and has been a faculty consultant on a UNFPA funded consultative and collaborative research project with Population First. In recognition of her contribution to KC College, she has been bestowed with the KC Ratna Award in 2024.

Dr. Rani Tyagi
Deputy Director, Board of Examination and Evaluation
Dr. Rani Tyagi is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies with 19 years of teaching experience at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. A dedicated researcher, she earned her Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Mumbai (formerly known as the National Institute of Industrial Engineering, NITIE) in 2015. Dr. Tyagi has a remarkable portfolio of research contributions, having published numerous papers in both national and international journals. Her commitment to academic excellence is further demonstrated by her achievements as a recipient of the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in 2005 and several research grants from the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the University of Mumbai. In 2015, Dr. Tyagi was selected for the prestigious Faculty Exchange Program at King’s College London. She is also a recognized Ph.D. guide in Environmental Management and serves as a member of the Board of Studies for Environment Management and Tourism.

Dr. Madhuri Tikam
Director of Knowledge Resource Center
Dr. Madhuri Tikam is an eminent academic and library professional working actively in the field for the last 26 years. She began her career with a multinational information services company as an “Information Scientist”. In 1997, she joined H R College of Commerce & Economics as Chief Librarian. Her keen interest in automation, advancement of the library system, and encouraging library patrons to avail maximum benefit of library collection and services. Passionate and dedicated to research and library development, she has led many research and library advancement projects. She has offered information literacy programs and NAAC consultancy to more than 100 institutions. She is on the editorial boards of many international and national journals. She authored a book – “Measuring Value of Academic Library” and has three minor research projects and 40+ international and national level publications to her credit. She has delivered many lectures on an international, national and local level. She has received various recognitions such as the ‘Best Teacher Award for Outstanding Contribution to Teaching & Education (Library Education)’ from Higher Education Forum (HEF), Nomination from SAARC Documentation Centre, Scholarship from American Library Association (ALA), Innovative Idea Presentation Award from VESASC & Vijnana Bharati, etc. She has been invited to many countries like USA, Maldives, and Dubai to study and share ideas about best practices in the library system.

CA Rajkumar P. Nagpal
Director of Finance and Accounts Officer
CA Rajkumar P. Nagpal, Finance & Accounts Officer (Ag), HSNC University, is an experienced Chartered Accountant. He has completed his CA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), a statutory body established under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 for for the regulation of the profession of Chartered Accountants in India.
He holds the position of General Manager – Accounts & Finance at Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board, a 70-year-old Educational Trust of Mumbai. He has passed CA Final exam on the first attempt. He believes “Don’t give up, the beginning is always the hardest”.

Dr. Satish Kolte
Director of National Service Scheme (NSS)
Dr. Satish Shridhar Kolte is Professor, Dept. of Chemistry, K.C. College and has been NSS Programme Officer for 17 years & as District Coordinator of University of Mumbai for 14 years. He has 27 years teaching experience & 05 years industrial experience of working in Pharmaceutical company. He has worked as Jr. Research fellow for project offered by Dept of Atomic Energy from year 1994 to 1998 & also completed 04 projects sponsored by URG during year 2010 to 2017. Dr. Satish Kolte has published 12 research papers in national & international journals and has a registered Indian Patent for his Ph. D. Research work.
He has supervised numerous social activities under NSS for rural & urban development programmes since year 2004 and has won several accolades. He has been the recipient of several awards including the “Best Programme Officer” at National Level in the year 2019, 04 times “Best Programme Officer” at District & University Level from University of Mumbai & 03 times by Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra. During his tenure as Programme Officer, 22 K C NSS volunteers received Best Male / Female Volunteer’s award from University of Mumbai, 06 volunteers won State level best NSS volunteers award & NSS volunteer Miss Kasturi Apte was felicitated with “Indira Gandhi National Service Award” in the year 2010.

Prin. Rajendra D. Shinde
Director of Innovation, Incubation, Linkages & Placements
Prin. Rajendra D. Shinde currently serves as the Director of the Board of Innovation, Incubation, Linkages and Placements at HSNC University, Mumbai. Before this appointment, he held several distinguished roles over his long and impactful academic career, most notably serving as Principal of St. Xavier’s College (Empowered Autonomous), Mumbai, from 2018 to 2025. His association with St. Xavier’s College spans more than three decades, reflecting his deep commitment to academic excellence and institutional development.
Dr. Shinde has been an integral part of the Department of Botany at St. Xavier’s College, where he taught from 1991 to 2025. His teaching was marked by an emphasis on field-based learning, student research, and conceptual clarity, shaping generations of students in the plant sciences. His connection with the Blatter Herbarium began early in his career when he served as its Curator from 1983 to 1991, contributing to the conservation and documentation of one of India’s oldest and most valuable botanical collections. From 2016 to 2025, he led the Herbarium as its Director, overseeing major modernisation initiatives, including the ₹2.5 Crore digitization project funded by the Tata Trusts.
In addition to his long service at St. Xavier’s, Dr. Shinde has contributed internationally to higher education. He served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Guyana, Georgetown, during 2003–2004, where he strengthened academic programs in botany and ecology. His exposure to global educational practices began earlier when he was selected for the Group Study Exchange (GSE) Program under Rotary International in the year 2000. As part of this prestigious program, he visited Pittsburgh, USA, engaging with academic, cultural, and professional institutions.
Within St. Xavier’s College, Dr. Shinde has held several leadership positions that contributed significantly to the growth of the institution. As the Director of International Programmes from 2007 to 2011, he facilitated international collaborations and student exchange programs that enriched academic mobility. He subsequently served as Vice-Principal from 2011 to 2017, overseeing academic administration, faculty development, and strategic planning—roles that laid the foundation for his eventual appointment as Principal.
During his tenure as Principal, Dr. Shinde led St. Xavier’s College to new heights in academic autonomy and national recognition. Under his leadership, the college secured an ‘A+’ grade with a CGPA of 3.27 in the 2022 NAAC accreditation cycle. He ensured that St. Xavier’s consistently remained among the NIRF Top 100 Colleges in India across multiple years, distinguishing it as the only Arts, Science, and Commerce college in Mumbai to achieve this status. The institution was also ranked the No. 1 Private Autonomous College in India by EducationWorld magazine for seven consecutive years (2019–2025), a reflection of his visionary governance.
A recognised consultant on the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), Dr. Shinde led the implementation of NEP and new academic frameworks at the college. He expanded academic offerings by introducing innovative programs such as the M.Sc. in Big Data Analytics (in collaboration with TCS), M.Sc. in Physics with a specialisation in Astrophysics, M.A. in Psychology (Lifespan Counselling), MA in Transformational Leadership, and the B.Sc. in Data Science and AI, aligning the institution with contemporary academic and industry needs.
Dr. Shinde’s commitment to fostering research excellence was evident in his success in securing major institutional grants, including ₹5 Crores from RUSA and ₹3 Crores under the DBT Star College Scheme. He established new PhD research centres in Economics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Physics, thereby strengthening the college’s research ecosystem. Additionally, he oversaw the creation of a cutting-edge Fintech Lab equipped with Bloomberg Terminals, integrating professional-grade tools into student learning.
A distinguished botanist, Dr Shinde’s research expertise lies in plant taxonomy, ecology, and urban biodiversity. Recognised as a PhD guide since 2006, he has supervised seven doctoral scholars working on diverse topics such as ethnobotany, DNA barcoding, and orchid ecology in Mumbai. His scholarly contributions include significant publications such as Ethnobotany of Kokni Tribal of Maharashtra (2024) and Floral Diversity of Nandur Madhmeshwar Wildlife Sanctuary (2018). His scientific discoveries include the description of new plant species, including Oropetium almeidanum, Ischaemum mistryi, and Ischaemum dioecum, contributing valuable knowledge to Indian botany.
Beyond academia, Dr. Shinde is deeply engaged in environmental conservation and public policy. He serves on the Maharashtra State Biodiversity Board (Subject Expert Committee) and the Dahanu Taluka Environment Protection Authority, an initiative of the Government of India, providing expert insights on ecological sustainability. Regular nature trails conducted by Extra Mural Studies of the University of Mumbai for the general public in the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, where he contributed as a resource person, educating people about the biodiversity and the need for conservation.
His commitment to environmental advocacy is further reflected in his active involvement with the Bombay Natural History Society & National Society of Friends of Trees, where he serves as editor of the annual magazine, VANSHOBHA and Journal of Bombay Natural History Society. He has convened several national seminars dealing with topics such as tree economy, ecological restoration, and urban forest management, contributing to India’s growing environmental discourse.
Dr. Shinde has also served the University of Mumbai in crucial academic governance roles. He was Chairman of the Board of Studies in Botany and a member of the Academic Council from 2018 to 2022. Presently, he serves on the NEP Implementation Committee and the Ad-Hoc Board of Studies for Innovation, Incubation, and Linkages. His expertise is widely sought by institutions across Maharashtra, where he serves as the Vice-Chancellor’s or Management Nominee on the academic councils and governing bodies of several institutions in Mumbai and Pune.
Throughout his career, Dr. Shinde has received numerous prestigious accolades. He was awarded the Fulbright-Nehru International Educational Administrator’s Fellowship in 2012, facilitating academic exchanges in the United States. His more recent honors include the Maharashtra Shiksha Bhushan Puraskar (2025), Shiksha Shree Samman (2025), the University of Mumbai’s Best Principal (Urban Area) Award (2022–23), recognition among the 50 Most Influential Principals of India by the World Education Congress (2021–22), and the Dr. Hermengild Santapau Gold Medal (2022) for his outstanding contributions to plant taxonomy.

Dr. Pratiksha Kadam
Director of Students' Development
Dr. Pratiksha M. Kadam holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Mumbai and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at K. C. College, HSNC University, Mumbai. She has over 15 years of teaching experience in Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science, with a focus on integrating digital tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, and Google Suite into her teaching practices.
She is a Board of Studies (BOS) member in Statistics at HSNC University and has served as a visiting faculty for M.Sc. programs at The Institute of Science and K. C. College. Dr. Kadam has authored research papers in reputed journals and contributed to books on R and Python programming. She has conducted invited talks and training sessions on Data Analysis, LaTeX, and Power BI for students, faculty, and professionals.
Dr. Kadam also serves as the NSS Programme Officer at K. C. College, actively involved in organizing and participating in various community outreach initiatives.

Dr. Sandeep Sadashivrao Shinde
Director of Sports and Physical Education
Dr. Sandeep Sadashivrao Shinde is an accomplished academician and sports administrator with over 20 years of experience in the field of Physical Education and Sports. He holds a Ph.D. in Physical Education from the University of Mumbai and has a strong academic foundation with multiple postgraduate qualifications, including M.P.Ed. and M.Phil. degree with distinction.
Before joining Hyderabad Sind National Collegiate University, Mumbai as the Director of Sports and Physical Education on 1st August 2025, Dr. Shinde served as the In-charge Principal of Mahatma Education Society’s Vidyadhiraja College of Physical Education and Research, Panvel, affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Under his leadership, the college achieved NAAC accreditation and made significant progress in sports education and athlete development. An accomplished Volleyball player, coach, and official, he has successfully guided the University of Mumbai’s Men’s and Women’s teams in multiple Inter-University tournaments. He has also served in several key administrative positions, including Working President and Inter-Collegiate Sports Competition Secretary of the University of Mumbai’s Konkan Zone Sports Committee, and has been instrumental in organizing multiple intercollegiate sports events.
A passionate educator and sports professional, Dr. Shinde has contributed extensively as a University-recognized Ph.D. research guide, member of the Board of Studies (BOS), examiner, paper setter, and visiting faculty for several reputed institutions. His research contributions span national and international journals and conferences, focusing on sports performance, physical and mental well-being, and innovative teaching methods.
Dr. Shinde is delighted to join Hyderabad Sind National Collegiate University, Mumbai as the Director of Sports and Physical Education and looks forward to contributing towards realizing the University’s vision of fostering excellence, inclusivity, and holistic student development through sports, fitness, and physical education.

Dr. Jasbir Kaur Sodi
Director of Lifelong Learning and Extension
Dr. Jasbir Kaur Sodi is a Professor and Vice Principal in the Department of Commerce at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, and Director of Lifelong Learning and Extension at HSNC University, Mumbai. With a career spanning since 2005, she has a rich background in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in commerce, management, accountancy, and business development. Dr. Sodi is a passionate advocate for fostering creativity over competition and is driven by a strong belief in collective empowerment and inclusivity. Her roles include leadership positions such as NSS Program Officer, IQAC Coordinator, and member of various committees, including the Board of Studies and the Board of Languages. Dr. Sodi has contributed extensively to academic development, organizing faculty development programs and guiding research. She is also actively engaged in corporate, academic and community outreach and financial literacy initiatives. Her research contributions include over 40 plus published papers in UGC Carelisted, Scopus-indexed journals and reputed referred journals. She holds a Ph.D. in Commerce and is Ph D. Guide in the subject of Business Policy and Administration. Dr. Sodi is known for her leadership, collaboration, and commitment to student empowerment and academic excellence.

Dr. Mandeep Kaur Kochar

Prof. (Dr.) Mandeep Kaur Kochar began her professional career in 1995 at Bombay Teachers’ Training College, Colaba Mumbai. At present she is serving as Vice Principal (University Affairs) at at Bombay Teachers’ Training College, HSNC University, Mumbai. Her Qualification is: Ph.D in Education, M.Phil (Edu.), M.A.(Eco), M.Ed. She had been a University Rank Holder from Panjab University Chandigarh in 1993. The Subjects Taught by her are Educational Psychology, Teaching of Economics and Commerce, Inclusive Education, and Educational Research. She Completed her Ph.D in Education from Punjab University, Chandigarh, in 2002-03 and her Ph.D was declared as Five Top most the then Researches of the Punjab University, Chandigarh, in the year 2002 & 03. She is a Recognized Research Guide for Ph.D. and four students have completed their Ph.D research under her able guidance
