Ms. Shahiza Irani
Shahiza Irani has been teaching at D.M. Harish School of Law, HSNC University, Mumbai from July 2022. She has 11 years of work experience, including 5 years in the industry and 6 years in teaching and research. Prior to joining academia, Shahiza was working as a legal associate with leading law firms, advising domestic and international clients on general corporate matters. Before joining D.M. Harish School of Law, she was working as a Programme Associate with Jamsetji Tata School of Disaster Studies, TISS, Mumbai and as an Assistant Professor at a law college affiliated to the University of Mumbai. Shahiza holds a B.A. in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, an LL.B. from Government Law College, Mumbai and an LL.M. in Human Rights Law from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. from Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune where her research focuses on the legal aspects of natural disaster management in India. She has numerous publications in UGC-Care List and SCOPUS indexed journals and has presented papers at national and international conferences. She is UGC-NET and MH-SET qualified in law.
Courses taught: Constitutional Law I, Constitutional Law II, Moot Court (Clinical), Drafting, Pleading and Conveyancing (Clinical) and Company Law.
