Ms. Ritika Srivastava
Ms. Ritika Srivastava is an alumna of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and Christ University, Bengaluru. She has taught over seven years in both degree colleges and law schools. Her teaching interests include the sociology of law, post-modern sociological theories, and research methods, using innovative pedagogical tools such as experiments, reflective teaching, storytelling, and inquiry-based learning.
Her research primarily examines critical areas within the sociology of gender, violence, and the sociology of health and medicine through ethnographic exploration. Her scholarly presentation on the ‘Medicalisation of Women’s Bodies’ at the 19th World Anthropological Congress received support from the Wenner-Gren Fund. She has also contributed actively as a reviewer for esteemed journal the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: An International Journal.
Ms. Srivastava has been invited to speak on topics such as ‘Designing and Developing Blended Classroom Teaching and Learning’. She has served as a Board of Studies Member for Sociology at the KES Shroff College, Mumbai and participated as a panel member for a Gender Audit in JES College Mumbai. She has been actively involved as a member in the Faculty Development Centre, ISO Audit, and NAAC accreditation process at the KES Shroff College, Mumbai.
She has been instrumental in the creation of two magazines addressing the complex intersection of Law and Society at the School of Law, Alliance University, Bengaluru. She is a lifetime member of the Indian Sociological Society. Beyond the classroom, Ms. Srivastava is deeply passionate about issues related to women, bodies, and workplace practices, striving for meaningful change through her academic work.
